NORMAL, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference has released the 2018-19 conference schedule for all 10 teams, including the conference-opening game for Illinois State on Jan. 2 at Valparaiso.
The Redbirds open MVC play with a road game, before hosting Evansville (Jan. 5) and UNI (Jan. 9). A trip to Loyola Chicago follows on Saturday, Jan. 12, before the Redbirds host Southern Illinois on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Back-to-back road games at Evansville (Saturday, Jan. 19) and Bradley (Wednesday, Jan. 23) follow, before the Redbirds host Indiana State on Sunday, Jan. 27. The first half of the conference season ends on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when ISU travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to face off against the Drake Bulldogs.
Illinois State kicks off the back half of the conference season with a Saturday, Feb. 2 battle with Loyola Chicago at Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena, and remains at home to host Valparaiso on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
The Redbirds follow with a stretch of three road games in their next four contests with games at Missouri State (Sunday, Feb. 10), UNI (Wednesday, Feb. 13), and Indiana state (Wednesday, Feb. 20), with a home game against Bradley (Saturday, Feb. 16) sandwiched in between.
Drake (Sunday, Feb. 24) and Missouri State (Wednesday, Feb. 27) travel to Normal to close out the home portion of the schedule for Illinois State, as the Redbirds close the 2018-19 regular season on Saturday, Mar. 2 with a trip to Carbondale to face off against Southern Illinois.
The 2018-19 season opens with a pair of untelevised exhibition games on Oct. 30 vs. Lewis and Nov. 3 vs. Augustana. The regular season kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 6 against Florida Gulf Coast at Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
