NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving teams are set for a busy weekend, as they head to Iowa for a pair of duals. The teams will travel to Ames, Iowa, on Friday to compete against the Iowa State Cyclones at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the Redbirds will be competing against conference rival UNI in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at 2 p.m.
"We are very excited to get on the road and compete against two very good opponents," said head swimming coach Scott Cameron. "We set these weeks up to really test our team and get them ready for competition over many days. I'm excited to see how they make adjustments from one meet to the next, while also competing at a high-level during training."
"I am looking forward to two great meets this weekend that will be a great challenge for our divers, not only great teams to compete against, but learning to compete on the road," added head diving coach Phil Hoffmann. "That's very important this time of year."Â
Next weekend the Redbirds will return to Horton Pool for its final home meet of the season. The program's seniors will be recognized, as the team faces Evansville on Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.
