Redbirds Host Bradley for “Pack the Arena” Game

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team returns to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena on Saturday, as they host I-74 rival Bradley for "Pack the Arena" game.

THE SERIES VS. BRADLEY

• The Redbirds are 48-25 overall when facing the Braves. The 'Birds are 25-10 at home, 20-15 at Bradley and 3-0 at a neutral site.

• The teams most recently met on March 3 in Peoria, where the 'Birds captured a 53-41 victory. The two squads split the series last year, as the 'Birds dropped the first contest 62-42.

REDBIRD BITS

• Illinois State enters the contest after splitting the previous weekend with a 60-52 victory over Southern Illinois and a 59-47 loss to Missouri State.

• Simone Goods tallied her 10th career double-double against Southern Illinois Friday with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Goods' performance earned her a spot in ISU's top 25 list for double-doubles in a season with six thus far. The senior forward is third in the Valley this season for the statistic and sits behind Bradley's Chelsea Brackmann (9).

• The Redbirds were a perfect 12-for-12 at the charity stripe on Sunday against Missouri State, shooting 100 percent from the line for the first time in the 2018-19 season. The last time the 'Birds were perfect at the stripe (2-for-2) was the 2015-16 season, also against Missouri State.

• Senior guard Viria Livingston has grabbed 35 offensive rebounds this season, tallying a career total of 254. This current mark puts her third all-time in ISU history.

SCOUTING THE BRAVES

• The Braves are tied with Illinois State and Indiana State for fifth in the MVC standings after splitting last weekend's contests. Bradley picked up an overtime win against Southern Illinois on Sunday (58-53) and fell to Missouri State Friday (68-56).

• The team ranks 20th in the country in rebounding with Brackmann leading the way, averaging 11.1 boards per game. The junior forward also sits 20th nationally for rebounds per game.

• Gabi Haack has scored in double figures in 15 consecutive contests, which is the longest streak for a BU player since the 2000-01 season. Haack leads the Braves and is third in the Valley, scoring 16.7 points per game.

PACK THE ARENA

• Admission is FREE for all fans.

• The halftime performance will feature Tyler's Amazing Balancing Act, which is the number one booked halftime show in all of college basketball.

• A bounce inflatable at Reggie's Fun Zone in the south concourse will be accessible prior to tip-off.

• Back by popular demand, Illinois State dad hats will be handed out to ISU students in attendance in the south concourse, while supplies last.

NEXT UP

The Redbirds will travel north to finish the first half of Valley play as the team takes on Loyola and Valparaiso on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
