COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Illinois Sate's men's tennis team continued play at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships at Ohio State as Diego Le Gal Perez advanced with a win against Youngstown State's Laurentiu Mandocescu (7-5, 7-6).
"Today went very well, as Diego played a tremendous match this morning to earn a spot in the main draw tomorrow," head coach Mark Kysler said. "I was really pleased with our doubles today, as we won a good match and played close in two others."
Doubles partners Jorge Bartra and Diego Le Gal Perez defeated Toledo's Cole Shoults and Thawin Suksathaporn, 8-3.
Competition will resume Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the third round of qualifying singles followed by the first round of the doubles main draw.
