Redbirds to Tip Off Season with Strong Promotions

NORMAL, Ill. – The 2019-20 Illinois State men's basketball season will open on Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Belmont, and in addition to the season-opening game, there are many other exciting events surrounding the contest.

To kick off Big Wednesday, the first 700 students in attendance will receive a replica 6th man men's basketball jersey. Red Alert members can enjoy 15-minute early admission (5:45 p.m.) at the south doors to Redbird Arena. All other students and fans can enter the building starting at 6 p.m.

Illinois State students now have seating in both end zones. The north end zone (sections 123, 124, and 125) is the new primary student section, and will be closest to the visiting team bench, new band section, and cheer/dance teams. The overflow student seating is in the south end zone with sections 110, 111, and 112.

All fans are encouraged to participate in the first crowd-sourced light show for men's basketball presented by State Farm. Download the ISU Athletics mobile app before coming to the game in the Google Play or Apple stores by clicking the link (https://isu-redbirds.app.link/launch). Have your phone out and app open before the national anthem and the music during the Redbird introduction video will take care of the rest.

Additionally, for halftime entertainment, national halftime act Red Panda Acrobat will perform her world-renowned unicycle bowl-flipping act in a premium halftime performance.

Season and single-game tickets are on sale now at GoRedbirds.com/tickets, or by calling the Redbird ticket office at 309-438-8000.
