NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 13 ranked Illinois State football team will look to bounce back from a tough loss to No. 1 North Dakota State, when the Redbirds head south to Carbondale to take on Southern Illinois. ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview the road contest against the Salukis at The Brock Spack Show, presented by Bud Light, live from Schooners Thursday night in Bloomington beginning at 6 p.m.
The Redbirds (3-2, 0-1 MVFC) could climb out of an early hole to the No. 1 ranked Bison and dropped the MVFC opener to the defending national champs last Saturday at Hancock Stadium. However, ISU will have the chance to rebound this week with a win over the Salukis (2-3, 0-1 MVFC) who hung with No. 3 South Dakota State for a half before the Jackrabbits came away with the 28-10 win. The Redbirds are 5-5 against the Salukis under the leadership of head coach Brock Spack and have won four out of the last five contests overall, including a 51-3 win over the Salukis at Hancock Stadium last year.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz and welcome offensive lineman Cole Anderson to the show as this week's player guest. The Gurnee, Illinois, native has started the past three games at right tackle for the Redbirds, as the team has gone 2-1 in that stretch. Â
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com.
