NORMAL Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team collected 7 wins Friday on the first day of the Redbird Invitational at the Bloomington Tennis Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
"Today went very well as we won every match we played except one. That was a positive start for our home tourney, which you always want to represent well," head coach Mark Klysner said. "Big congrats to Nam on winning his first college singles and doubles match."
The 'Birds went 3-0 in doubles and 4-1 in singles action. Freshman Nam Pham earned his first singles win against Eastern Illinois' Gage Kingsmith.
The Redbirds will be back on the courts tomorrow at the Bloomington Tennis Center with three rounds of doubles.
