For the first time since 2016 and the fifth time since 2012, Illinois State (8-4, 5-3 MVFC) is back in the FCS playoffs and will hit the road to take on OVC co-champion Southeast Missouri (9-3, 7-1 OVC) at Houck Field. The Redbirds and Redhawks will meet for the 11th time, with Illinois State holding a 7-3 advantage in the series that dates back to 1943.
