Illinois State soccer senior Kate Del Fava was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-Midwest Region First Team, as announced by the organization Monday afternoon. Del Fava is one of three Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer athletes to be recognized on the All-Midwest Region Team, but is the only student-athlete to earn First Team honors.
Del Fava put together an impressive senior season, leading the Valley in goals (17), points (39) and game-winning goals (6), while ultimately sweeping the MVC Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards at the end of the season. Additionally, Del Fava was selected as the MVC Elite 17 Award winner, named a Senior CLASS Award finalist and set the record for most MVC Offensive Player of the Week recognitions in a single season (5).
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game.
