BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior guard Katrina Beck. The women's team (13-9, 6-5) opens a three-game road swing on Friday night in Springfield, Missouri against the Missouri State Bears on Friday, Feb. 15 before continuing the trip that Sunday at Southern Illinois. Beck is one of two student-athletes on the team to have played and started in all 22 games during the season. She averages 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while standing second on the team with 41 assists..
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by redshirt sophomore guard Isaac Gassman. The men's team (14-11, 7-5) travels to UNI on Wednesday, Feb. 13 before hosting in-state rival Bradley on Saturday evening. Gassman averages 3.0 points per game while shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc in 18 games this season. He also has added six steals and has an 11-to-3 assist-to-turnover ratio, the top percentage in the Missouri Valley Conference.
