BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's assistant coach Scott Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Halbleib will be joined by assistant coach Scott Gillespie and junior guard Viria Livingston. Scott Gillespie will be filling in for head coach Kristen Gillespie while she is on the recruiting trail. The women's team (15-9, 8-5) travels to I-74 rival Bradley on Friday, Feb. 22 with game time set for 7 p.m. The squad captured their first MVC road sweep this past weekend for the first time in five years, downing Missouri State and Southern Illinois. Viria Livingston has been a key component to the team's success this season, being deemed by Coach Gillespie as one of the best defenders in the league.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by sophomore forward Taylor Bruninga. The men's team (14-13, 7-7) travels to Indiana State on Wednesday, Feb. 16 with tip-off set for 6 p.m. CT. Bruninga has missed the 2018-19 season due to a foot injury. Last year he averaged 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 29 games as a freshman. He made 35-of-100 3-point baskets and 38.3 percent of his shots from the field overall.
