NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team powered past the Aces, sweeping the series, with an 82-59 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Simone Goods led all scorers with 11 points at the conclusion of the first half, guiding the Redbirds to a 40-25 lead at the end of the second quarter. ISU shot 50 percent from the beyond the arc, netting 4-for-8, with Kayel Newland sinking two. Today marked Newland's second consecutive career start, after debuting in the lineup for the first time in win against Valparaiso.
The Redbirds opened the third quarter on an 8-0 run, with six points coming from Goods. Evansville got on the board as Makayla Wallace added one at the charity stripe. TeTe Maggett responded, draining a triple and ISU pulled a 25-point lead. The Aces were unable to overcome the deficit and ISU surged ahead, capturing its second-straight win.

- Maggett added a new career high, dishing out eight assists, while also only committing one turnover.
- Lexi Wallen added another double figure game to her resume, tallying 13 points, going 6-of-9 from the floor. The senior forward also sank her second career 3-pointer, finishing a perfect 1-for-1.
- Marley Miller led the Aces, netting 17 points, shooting 5-of-9 from long range, while adding two free throws.
