NORMAL, Ill. – A group of Illinois State swimming and diving team members will return to the pool this week, competing at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational and NCAA Diving Zone Championships, with both events being held March 14-16.
Jensen Keck, Kierston Farley-Sepe, Julie Kolar and Mary Katherine Tillotson will be competing in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay events at the National Invitational Championship. The post-season event is being held at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium on the campus of Cleveland State.
"I am very excited to be able to attend the CSCAA National Invite this season," said head swimming coach Scott Cameron. "It is a great showcase for our program, and it's a great opportunity for our athletes to be able to compete with some of the best programs and athletes in the country. I'm looking forward to some fast swimming and for our four student-athletes attending to do some special things at this meet."
Caroline Lecoeur will represent the Redbird diving team at the NCAA Diving Zone Championships for the second straight year, after earning a spit to compete at the prestigious event. Lecoeur will be competing in the 3-meter diving event on Thursday at 12 p.m. CT, before returning to the pool on Friday for the 1-meter diving event at 12 p.m. CT.
"I am looking forward to seeing how Caroline competes with the NCAA's very best at the NCAA Zone C Championship," said head diving coach Phil Hoffmann. "She will be put to the test in one of that very toughest Zones in the country. I am hoping that she can build on her experience from last year and have a shot at moving on to NCAA's."
