NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Women's Tennis team defeated Western Illinois 4-0. The Redbirds improve to 8-5 overall, and this marks the fourth-straight win against Western Illinois.
The 'Birds came onto the court hot with the freshman/junior duo of Tara Damnjanovic and Natalia Bravo, who captured a 6-1 victory that secured the doubles point. The squad did not let up in the singles matches as sophomore Laura Fitzgerald defeated Camryn Rossa 6-0, 6-1. Damnjanovic followed, earning the No. 2 singles win, overcoming Mary Bjelica 6-2, 6-0 to take the match. Damnjanovic is now 7-3 at the No. 2 spot.
