INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Illinois State women's tennis team took down Butler 4-1 in a tough road match. The 'Birds improve to a9-5 overall record, and this is the eighth-straight win against the Bulldogs for the program.
The squad quickly took the doubles matches 2-0, securing the doubles point. Senior Veronika Golanova struck first in the singles matches, defeating Emily Neal 6-3, 6-0. Senior Jana Kustkova followed quickly at the No. 4 spot, overcoming Nina Bertino 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Tara Damnjanovic sealed the match by taking down Lauryn Padgett 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. Kusktova is now 8-4 this season, and Damnjanovic is 8-3 at the No. 2 spot.
