BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Dan Muller Coaches Show will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming matchups.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Luedke and Matthews will be joined by Dan Muller via the phone during the first segment, along with senior managers Tre Lesley and Brady Fritcher. The next two segments will feature Redbird standouts Phil Fayne and Milik Yarbrough, and the show will close with assistant coach Chris Duhon.
Fayne has played and started in each of the team's 31 games this season, and is second on the team in scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.2 rpg) while leading the team in blocked shots (36) and steals (32). He is one of just 16 student-athletes in the country this season to have at least 30 steals, 30 blocked shots, and be making over half of their shots from the offensive end. He is also climbing his way up the program's scoring list, as he currently stands 25th in program history in points, and needs just nine to move to 21st, passing four others including former teammate Paris Lee.
Yarbrough has played in all 31 games during the year with 30 starts. He leads the team in points (16.8 ppg), rebounds (7.0 rpg) and assists (97), and is looking to become the first Redbird since Tarise Bryson in 1999-00 to lead ISU in all three categories. As it stands he is one of only seven student-athletes in the country to have scored at least 520 points, pulled down at least 215 rebounds, and given out at least 95 assists. He has scored 1,052 points over his two years at ISU, which is best total over the first two years with the program since Doug Collins scored 1,590 over his first two seasons in a Redbird uniform.
The Kristen Gillespie Show will not be conducted this week, but will return next week to preview the Hoops in the Heartland Tournament.
The Redbirds open up play at the 2019 MVC Tournament when the squad faces off against the Evansville Aces in an 8:30 p.m. tip-off at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Hy-Vee Market Grille, located at: 1403 N. Veterans Parkway, in Bloomington. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
