CHICAGO – The Illinois State baseball team lost on the road Tuesday afternoon in Chicago to the UIC Flames, 6-1. The Redbirds scored in the top of the first inning, but the Flames scored six unanswered runs in the contest. The loss dropped the Redbirds to 21-15 on the season.

Scoring Breakdown:
- Illinois State started the scoring in the top of the first inning, as Joe Butler drove home Parola on a single to right field to go up 1-0 on the Flames. UIC responded in the home half with a solo home run from Ota to tie the game 1-1 after the first inning.
- The Flames would score again in the bottom of the second inning, as a groundout pushed a Flame across home. UIC led ISU 2-1.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Ota hit a two-run blast for his second home run of the game. UIC extended its lead to 4-1 over the Redbirds.
- UIC scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. A throwing error by the Redbirds scored one run, and a double to left-center field pushed the other run across the plate for the Flames. UIC led ISU 6-1 after the fifth inning. That would conclude the scoring the game as UIC beat ISU.
