ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – The game times and match-ups for the 2019 Paradise Jam have been announced, with the Illinois State Redbirds set to face off against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the opening round of the tournament.
The Redbirds and Bearcats will face off on Friday, Nov. 22 in a 4:45 (CT) tip-off at the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas. The meeting will be the fourth in the series history, with Cincinnati holding a 2-1 win, with ISU's win coming in 2007 in Normal.
A win over Cincinnati will have Illinois State play next on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. CT, while a loss will see the Redbirds play on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. C.T. ISU will face off against either Bowling Green or Western Kentucky. Â Illinois State comes into the tournament with a 4-1 all-time record against the Falcons, including winning the last four meetings. The Redbirds have a 3-1 record against Western Kentucky, with the team's last win of the series coming during the 2003-04 season.
The final day of the tournament comes on Monday, Nov. 25, and the game time is dependent on ISU's results from the first two games of the tournament. The four teams that ISU could face include Nevada, Valparaiso, Fordham, and Grand Canyon.
