NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller has announced that Antonio Reeves has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Redbirds starting in the 2019-20 season.
"I couldn't be more excited to welcome Antonio to our program," said Muller. "Antonio is a skilled guard that can really shoot the basketball and will have a chance to play all three positions on the perimeter as he continues to grow and advances his game. He has played for a couple of the best high school coaches in the country in Mike Bibby and legendary Simeon coach Rob Smith. Antonio has a special future ahead of him and is a wonderful young man that we can't wait to get a chance to coach."
Reeves, a Rival's three-star prospect, played his senior season for Simeon High School in Chicago. He averaged 21.7 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game and was named All-City Second Team.
Prior to enrolling at Simeon, the 6-5 guard had spent a season at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix. He helped lead Shadow Mountain and head coach Mike Bibby to a 25-2 overall record and a state title while averaging 14 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Reeves joins an incoming group of newcomers that includes fall signee D.J. Horne and recent signee Harouna Sissoko. The Redbirds will also have five others – senior Jaycee Hillsman, juniors Keith Fisher III and Lijah Donnelly, sophomore Dedric Boyd, and freshman Abdou Ndiaye – all eligible to play this season after sitting out last season.
