NORMAL, Ill. – Season tickets for the 2019-20 Illinois State men's basketball season go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 1. A limited number of lower-bowl seats remain, and upper-bowl season tickets are as affordable as $99.
The upcoming basketball home slate will be hosted at a renovated Redbird Arena, which will feature new lower-bowl seats, loge boxes and an additional luxury suite, which will bring fans closer than ever to the action on Doug Collins Court. Among the additional seat amenities include a new seating platform, wider seats and rows, handrails, and cup holders.
The squad has started its limited summer workout program but is able to access additional time to gel with 10 traditional practices over the summer leading into the team's foreign trip to Italy from August 7-17.
The trip to Italy will allow the Redbirds to play three games in three different cities (Rome, Florence, and Treviso). In addition to the three games, the trip will include a tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, the Roman Coliseum, a Promenade boat ride in Florence, a bike tour of Florence, the Statue of David, sightseeing in Milan, and a gondola ride in Venice.
Illinois State returns three players that saw significant action for ISU a year ago including two starters (Zach Copeland and Matt Chastain) and a player that saw action in all 33 games off the bench (Rey Idowu). The Redbirds add five players to their roster who have started NCAA Division I basketball games in Jaycee Hillsman (52 career starts at San Jose State), Keith Fisher III (30 starts at San Jose State), Dedric Boyd (20 starts at Eastern Kentucky), Ricky Torres (10 starts at Wichita State), and Taylor Bruninga (seven starts as a freshman in 2017-18 before missing last season with an injury). Also new to the roster is transfer guard Lijah Donnelly, redshirt freshman Abdou Ndiaye, and true freshmen DJ Horne, Antonio Reeves, Harouna Sissoko, and Malcolm Miller.
