The Illinois State soccer team will jumpstart this year's athletics events by hosting Youth Soccer Day in conjunction with its home exhibition match on Saturday, Aug. 10. The exhibition game with SIUE will kick off at Adelaide Street Field at 3 p.m.
The day's events feature Reggie's Kids Club activities on the concourse, a freeze pop concession special, post-game autographs for Redbird fans and the opportunity to score a goal on Reggie Redbird at halftime.
Following the conclusion of the match, all kids in attendance are invited to partake in the inaugural "100 Kids vs. Redbird Soccer" promotion to scrimmage the soccer team on the pitch.
"There's no better way to start off the year than seeing those stands filled with Redbird fans," said junior midfielder Abby Basler. "I can't wait to get to know and play with the kids after the match!"
Redbird soccer, who finished 10-9-2 (4-3-0) during the 2018 campaign and ended their season in the MVC Soccer Championship semifinals, will play eight home events at Adelaide Street Field, including an exhibition and three Missouri Valley Conference contests.
