Tuesday, Aug. 6
11 a.m. – We departed Redbird Arena, and drove to O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
1:30 p.m. – With careful planning, we were all able to check our bags and keep the weight limit under 50lbs.
2 p.m. – We made it through security and found our spot at gate K15. I saw the plane through the window, which was the biggest I had ever seen. I have only been on two flights before this. It was fun to see all of the families, coaches and parents that have decided to come along on this journey with us!
5:05 p.m. – We boarded the huge plane! We are all very excited and thankful for the opportunity to take a once in a lifetime trip.
8:50 a.m. Central European Summer Time -- The team arrived safely to Rome and began a guided tour of the ancient city. Stay tuned to hear from Megan Talbot on how their first day in Italy was!
