NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbird Insiders Club Coaches' Luncheon, previously scheduled for Jan. 29, has been moved to Saturday, Feb. 15, and will feature Redbird basketball legend Doug Collins as the guest speaker.
Luncheon tickets are available to the public on a limited basis for $60 each by contacting a Weisbecker Scholarship Fund representative at (309) 438-2752. A table of eight can be booked for $450, or a table of four for $240.
The menu for the Jan. 29 luncheon includes Italian meat lasagna, cheese stuffed shells, Caesar salad, steamed green beans, and garlic toast.
Collins remains the program's career scoring leader with 2,240 points over his three seasons. He was a three-time All-American and the top draft pick in the 1973 NBA Draft. After a successful eight-year NBA career which included three All-Star game appearances, Collins turned to coaching where he served as head coach of the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons Washington Wizards, and Philadelphia 76ers.
