NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State gymnastics head coach Bob Conkling announced three new signees to his program Thursday, as Julia Heiner (Ellicott City, Md.), Jaye Mack (Kansas City, Mo.) and Sara Wabi (Joliet, Ill.) have all signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at Illinois State.
"Redbird Gymnastics is excited to announce that we have three National Letter of Intent signees," Conkling stated. "These three young women bring a wealth of talent to our program and they will have an immediate impact on our team. The best thing about all three of them is they continue to improve, and I believe they will to help us move forward towards our future goals."

•   2018 State Bars Champion and was 3rd on beam and in the all-around
•   2018 Regionals placed 3rd on beam and was 4th in the all-around
•   2018 Junior Olympic National Qualifier
"Julia will help us on all four events, but I believe she will have the strongest impact for us on the uneven bars," Conkling said.

"Jaye is a strong all-around gymnast and her biggest strength is her incredible power. Vault and floor are her two strongest events, which will help push the team to a higher level on both of those events," Conkling said.

•   2019 State placed 2nd on bars, 4th on floor and 6th in the all-around
•   2019 Regional Floor Champion and 4th on vault
"Sara is strong all-around gymnast, however her two strongest events are the uneven bars and floor which will help us move those events to a higher level," Conkling said.
