NORMAL, Ill. – Numerous records fell by the wayside for the Illinois State Redbirds in their win over Greenville, by a 177-108 margin, which set NCAA Division I records in total field goal percentage (84.3 percent) and assists (57), while also setting a new Illinois State and MVC points in a game record, and the point total is the fourth-highest single-game scoring total in NCAA Division I history, while the Redbirds' 84.3 field goal percentage (70-of-83) and 57 assists are new NCAA Division I records.
For Illinois State, 10 players scored in double-figures, led by freshman Emon Washington's 30 points off of the bench. Harouna Sissoko scored 21, Abdou Ndiaye 18, DJ Horne 17, Antonio Reeves and Alex Kotov 16, Alston Andrews 14, Josiah Strong 13, Dedric Boyd and Sy Chatman 12 each.

Strong dished out a game-high 11 assists while Horne gave out 10 helpers, Dedric Boyd had eight and Emon Washington seven. The Redbirds out-rebounded Greenville 57-30, and had 10 steals and six blocked shots.
Among the notable milestones set in the win include:
- The team's 57 assists demolished the previous NCAA Division I record which was 44 set by Colorado against George Mason on Dec. 2, 1995.
- The team's 84.3 field goal percentage (70-of-83) is better than the previous record of 83.3 set by Maryland, who went 15-of-18 against South Carolina on Jan. 9, 1971, while the record for a minimum of 30 attempts in a game was by New Mexico who went 35-of-43 against Oregon State on November 30, 1985.
- The 94-point second half and the 83-point first half are the two-highest scoring halves in program history.
- The 94-point second half is tied for the fourth-highest scoring half in NCAA Division I history.
- The 285 points between the two teams is the sixth-highest combined scoring game in NCAA Division I history.
- School records set include: Points in a game, points in the first half, points in the second half, scoring margin, field goals made, field goal percentage, and assists.
- MVC records set include: Points in a game, combined points, field goals made, field goal percentage in a game, and assists.
- Emon Washington's 12-of-13 shooting day is a new single-game school record, passing the 11-of-12 shooting games of Phil Fayne (1/272018 vs. Valparaiso and 1/13/2018 vs. Southern Illinois) and Ron deVries (12/1/1973 vs. Eastern Michigan), and also ties the Redbird Arena mark set by Reed Jackson of Evansville on Dec. 21, 1993.
- Emon Washington's 30 points are the most in a game by a freshman since Bubbles Hawkins also scored 30 against Jacksonville on Feb. 16, 1973, and is tied for the third-most in a game by a freshman in program history. His 12-of-13 shooting night is a new school record for a freshman.
- The Redbird Arena records that were erased include points (previous mark was 105), points in first half, points in second half, scoring margin, field goals made, field goal percentage, rebound margin, assists, and the second-most field goals attempted and rebounds.
Greenville stayed close in the game, as the teams were tied at 10 before the Redbirds ran off a 13-2 run to lead by 11 and never looked back the rest of the way. In the first half during a nearly 15-minute stretch, Illinois State made 24 consecutive shots, after which ISU led by 23 points.
