EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois State women's tennis team dropped a tight match against SIUE, 4-3, on the road Friday afternoon.
The Redbirds (4-3) captured the doubles point to take the early lead against the Cougars. Seniors Natalia Bravo and Laura Arciniegas each scored for the Redbirds, as Bravo took down SIUE's Lara Tupper 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot and Arciniegas defeated Caitlyn Sporing at No. 6. Unfortunately, the Cougars proved to be too much for the Redbirds in the singles matches and came back from a 1-0 deficit to win the match.
