NORMAN, Okla. – Illinois State (2-6) scored five runs in the third inning en route to a 7-4 victory over No. 23 Oklahoma (7-2) Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader. The Sooners took the first game of the afternoon, 3-2.

- The Redbirds tied things up at 1-1 in the fifth with an RBI single by Aidan Huggins.
- A solo home run by Oklahoma's Tyler Hardman gave the Sooners back the lead at 2-1 in the sixth inning.
- Huggins added another run-scoring hit in the seventh to again tie the game.
- Oklahoma again regained the lead on a sacrifice fly by Peyton Graham in the eighth.

- The Redbirds poured in five runs on four hits in the third inning, including a grand slam by Joe Butler. Braedon Blackford hit a solo shot the very next at-bat to give the Redbirds a 5-0 lead.
- Brady Lindsly hit a three-run bomb off of Anderson in the fourth to trim to ISU advantage to 5-3.
- Oklahoma added another run in the fifth inning on a wild pitch.
- Aidan Huggins added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, scoring Butler. Blackford scored on a wild pitch later in the frame to make it 7-4.
- An RBI double by Conor McKenna pulled the Sooners to within two at 7-5 in the ninth inning, but Jackson Bronke came in and got a huge out to seal the deal for the Redbirds.
