ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its 2020 Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete Team on Thursday, following the conclusion of the 2019-20 competition season. Seven Illinois State student-athletes were recognized on the list of Valley swimmers and divers.
Those individuals highlighted are: Kierston Farley-Sepe, Jensen Keck, Julie Kolar, Caroline Lecoeur, Haley Rivera, Morgan Rosser and Katie Tillotson. Keck and Tillotson are three-time honorees, while Rosser is earning her second-straight distinction.
"Watching this team excel, both in the pool and in the classroom this season, has been so much fun," first-year head coach Caitlin Hamilton shared. "We are all very proud of their hard work in both areas and exemplifying excellence as Redbird student-athletes."
To qualify for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one year at a Valley institution, while meeting one of the following criteria: own a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and obtain all-conference honors, holding a 3.5 GPA and top-16 finish in an individual event at the championship, or a boasting at least a 3.8 GPA and participate at the MVC Championships.
