Men's Basketball Unveils 2020-2021 MVC Schedule

ST. LOUIS – Illinois State and the Missouri Valley Conference have finalized the 2020-21 conference schedule for the upcoming season.

The conference season opens in the Redbirds' only 2020 MVC game with a December 30 contest at Evansville. Through the first five games of the season Illinois State alternates between home and road games, starting at Evansville, followed by a home game against Southern Illinois (Jan. 3), a road contest at UNI (Jan. 6), a home game against Indiana State (Jan. 9), and a road battle at Loyola Chicago (Jan. 13).

Saturday, Jan. 16 sends Illinois State to Peoria, where the 'Birds will face off against the Bradley Braves, followed four days later (Jan. 20) with a home game against Valparaiso. A road game at Missouri State on Jan. 23 sets up the first back-to-back home games of the MVC season for Illinois State, as the squad hosts Evansville on Jan. 27 and Bradley on Sunday, Jan. 31.

The month of February opens with back-to-back road games as Illinois State travels to face Drake (Feb. 3) and Valparaiso (Feb. 6). A home game against Missouri State on Feb. 10 follows, with the 'Birds traveling to face Southern Illinois on Feb. 13.

The conference season closes with Illinois State hosting three of its last four games, including back-to-back home games against Loyola on Feb. 16 and UNI on Feb. 20. The lone road contest among the final quartet of games sends the Redbirds to Terre Haute, Indiana, to face off against Indiana State on Feb. 23. The regular season comes to a close on Saturday, Feb. 27, when the Redbirds host Drake at Redbird Arena.

The 2021 State Farm MVC Arch Madness runs from March 4-7 in St. Louis.

Illinois State plans to finalize and announce a non-conference schedule in the coming weeks, set to begin after the NCAA's Nov. 25th start date and conclude before MVC play begins. Game times, and TV/radio coverage information will be available at a later date.

In accordance with state and local guidelines, fans are not allowed to be in attendance at Redbird Arena for games this winter. However, if guidelines change and a limited number of fans are permitted into the facility, single-game tickets will be made available to season ticket holders, donors, and students on a priority basis. If tickets remain after season ticket holders have claimed theirs, they will be released to purchase for the general public. As a reminder, all tickets for the upcoming year will be delivered via mobile options. To purchase tickets, click HERE.
