Redbirds Return Home for First of Three Consecutive Home Contests

NORMAL, Ill. - After a win over Chicago State on Saturday to even the Illinois State record to 5-5 on the year, the Redbirds return to action on Tuesday evening when the squad hosts the Quincy Hawks in a 7 p.m. tip-off at Redbird Arena.

• The Redbirds' three overtime games are tied for the second-most in the country this season.
• Of the 12 top scoring games in the MVC this season, five have come from Redbird Student athletes.
• Illinois State is 47-25 all-time against teams in the GLVC, including a 16-4 mark against Lewis and 10-7 against Quincy.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS


Quincy enters the mid-week contest with an even 4-4 record after dropping their last two games, in overtime at Lindenwood and against UMSL.

In the most recent game against UMSL, the Hawks were led by Adam Moore who scored 13 points, while Solomon Gustafson scored 12. Jamaurie Coakley was just off of the double-figure pace with eight points, while Paul Zilinskas and Silas Crisler each scored six points off of the bench. Three players- Moore, Gustafson, and Coakley - each pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, as Nate Shockey dished out a game-high four assists.

For the season the team is led by Malik Hardmon who averages 18.8 points per game, with Shockey second on the team with a 10.5 point per game scoring average. Four others - Mark Bradshaw (9.4), Moore (9.1), Coakley (8.6), and Zilinskas (8.6) are just off of the double-figure pace.

Hardmon averages a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game, with Moore and Coakley averaging 6.3 and 6.0, each. Coakley leads the team with 34 assists on the year.

TWO FOR A DOZEN


With Antonio Reeves and Josiah Strong each making six three-pointers in ISU's win over Chicago State, which is tied for the third-highest two-person three-point total in program history.

Illinois State is one of just ten schools in NCAA Division I this season to have two different student-athletes that have scored at least 30 points in a game. With Antonio Reeves and Mark Freeman each having reached the 30-point plateau, the Redbirds join Colorado State, Evansville, Furman, Illinois, Iowa State, Loyola (Md.), NC State, Winthrop, and Wyoming as the only schools in the country this season with two different players with 30+ points in a single game. ISU is one of just two schools (Wyoming) with two different student-athletes have games of at least 32 points.
