NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows presented by Bud Light, featuring Illinois State men's basketball head coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight. Fans can listen on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's games and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior guard Paige Saylor. Saylor has started in every game for the Redbirds, averaging 6.1 points per game and leads the team with 3.0 assists and 31.4 minutes played per contest.
The women's basketball team (12-6, 9-6 MVC) is coming off a pair of wins over Drake this weekend and heads to Peoria, Ill. on Thursday to take on the Bradley Braves for the second game in the I-74 rivalry series. Tip-off at the Renaissance Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. and the contest will be streamed on ESPN3/+.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Leudke. Muller will be joined by sophomore guard DJ Horne. Horne has started in all but one game this season and averages a team-high 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.
The men's basketball team (7-15, 4-12 MVC) defeated Bradley last week, completing the season sweep of the Braves for the first time since 2016-17. The Redbirds host UNI at Redbird Arena this Friday and Saturday for the regular season finale. Friday's game airs on ESPNU with Saturday's game slated for CBS Sports Network.
