STILLWATER, Okla. – The Illinois State baseball dropped the second game in a three-game set at No. 17 Oklahoma State by an 8-2 scoreline on Saturday at O'Brate Stadium.
Fourth-year junior Jack Butler went 2-for-4 with an RBI double for Illinois State (2-2 overall), which struck out 16 times.
Third-year freshman Sean Sinisko turned in a solid performance, finishing with 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 K, and 2 BB while first-year freshman Josh Dima fired two innings, striking out five batters.
The Cowboys (5-0 overall) hit three home runs and got six RBI out of the bottom three in the batting order.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cowboys scored a single run in the 1st and 4th innings, before erupting for six runs in the 6th inning.
Illinois State responded with a two-run 7th inning. Jack Butler drove in fourth-year sophomore Jake McCaw before third-year sophomore Gunner Peterson knocked Butler.

- Dima's five strikeouts were the most by a freshman ISU reliever since Jeff Lindgren fanned five at No. 9 Oregon on 2/25/2016. The five strikeouts were the most by an ISU reliever in their Redbird debut since WIll Headean struck out five of his own on 2/15/2013 at Memphis.
- The 16 Illinois State strikeouts were the most since 4/20/2018 against Missouri State.
