KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Illinois State softball team (3-2) finished its weather-shortened weekend at the Tennessee Invitational with a 4-0 shutout win over Northern Kentucky (0-3).
With unfavorable field conditions due to a copious amount of rain, the game was called at the conclusion of the fifth inning and met regulation standards, sealing the 4-0 victory for the Redbirds. Morgan Day, the right-handed pitcher out of Tuscola, Illinois, tossed her second one-hitter of the season and improved to 2-1 in the circle on the year.
