DALLAS, Texas – The Illinois State baseball team was swept at Dallas Baptist after a walk-off grand slam in game one and walk-off three-run homer in game two on Saturday at Horner Ballpark.

The walk-off grand slam came in 9th inning of an 11-7 DBU win while the walk-off three-run homer came in the 7th inning of a 6-3 DBU win.

Illinois State (18-28 overall, 8-11 Missouri Valley Conference) was led by three hits apiece from fourth-year junior Kyle Soberano and fifth-year senior Jordan Libman.

Fifth-year senior Joe Butler hit a key game-tying home run in game one.

Andres Sosa hit the walk-off grand slam and Austin Bell hit the walk-off three-run homer for Dallas Baptist (28-11 overall, 13-2 MVC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One

Libman led off the game with a double down the left field line before fourth-year sophomore Jake McCaw drove him home.

The Patriots responded with two runs in the bottom of the 1st before adding another in the 2nd.

Fifth-year junior Aidan Huggins singled to score Soberano in the 3rd to cut the lead to 3-2 prior to a solo home run by DBU in the 5th inning.

Fourth-year junior Nick Gile recorded a pinch-hit single before Joe Butler blasted the game-tying home run to left field in the 7th inning.

The Redbirds scored twice in the 8th, but the Patriots responded to tie it at 6-6.

Game Two

A McCaw single put ISU up 1-0 before he scored on a wild pitch. Fourth-year junior Jack Butler singled home fourth-year junior Tyson Hays to give the 'Birds a 3-0 after one inning.

DBU got one back in the 2nd to make it 3-1 before tying the game with a pair of solo shots in the 5th inning.

Fourth-year junior Colin Wyman induced a 6th-inning double play to escape a first and third jam prior to DBU's three-run, walk-off home run in the 7th.
