NORMAL, Ill. – Family weekend returns to the Illinois State campus Oct. 1-3, with the annual football game serving as one of the weekend's highlight. The Redbirds will take on Missouri Valley Conference foe Missouri State at 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 and it will be a busy day at Hancock Stadium.
Family members of current Illinois State University students can purchase a general admission ticket to the Redbird football game and sit with their student(s) while supplies last. Students must have a Red Alert pass or must purchase a single-game student ticket for $5. Only one student ticket is sold per ID per game.Â
Other Family Weekend events include a movie night, facility tours, Reggie's Fun Zone, and more. For the full list of events and more information for the weekend click here: https://familyweekend.illinoisstate.edu/
The Youth Cheer Clinic is also making its return as part of Family Weekend. Â The clinic will be held for children 4-12 years of age and will run from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the practice football field on Saturday, October 2. Â It features a halftime performance of the cheer routine they learned and a pizza lunch. At this time, registrants would not be required to wear a face covering while participating since the event is outdoors, but COVID-19 protocols are subject to change. If inclement weather occurs, the clinic will be moved inside Horton Field House and masks will be required.
Advance registration for the clinic is required and the experience costs $20 per child. To do so and purchase additional game tickets enter promo code CHEER at www.goredbirds.com/promotions. Registration will close on Thursday, September 30. Â
There will also be a day-long salute to the longstanding roots and impact the agriculture industry has had on our community, university, state and region during Agriculture Day, presented by Case IH and the Illinois Corn Growers. Case IH will have a farm implement around the stadium for kids and fans of all ages to view and engage with during the pre-game festivities and special information and recognitions will be presented during the game.Â
