Illinois State Baseball Adds Auggie Rasmussen to 2022 Recruiting Class

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State baseball program has announced the addition of Auggie Rasmussen (Blair, Neb. / Iowa Western CC) to its 2022 recruiting class, as unveiled by fourth-year head coach Steve Holm on Friday.

Rasmussen joins Daniel Pacella (Mundelein HS, Ill.), Shai Robinson (Homewood Flossmoor HS, Ill.), Ben Karpowicz (South Elgin HS, Ill.), James Duncan (Arrowhead HS, Wis.), Tyrelle Chadwick (Okotoks Dawgs Academy, Alberta, Canada), Ryan Borberg (Shawnee Mission Northwest HS, Kan.), Gradin Taschner (Neenah HS, Wis.), Thomas Harper (Wauwatosa East HS, Wis.), and Joey Wilmoth (Fishers HS, Ind.) in the 2022 class. Auggie Rasmussen                   5'11" 190, LHH, OF        Blair HS (Neb.) / Iowa Western CC 

Rasmussen played in 31 games at Iowa Western CC in 2021, hitting .271 with a .423 on-base percentage. Rausmussen recorded 22 RBIs in just 59 at-bats, blasting three home runs while swiping nine bases.

Coach Holm on Rasmussen: "Auggie comes to us from junior college powerhouse, Iowa Western. His skillset fits as a top of the order type player who should come in and compete from the moment he steps on campus. Auggie is a tremendous student, worker, and person. We are thrilled to welcome to the Redbird Baseball family."
