Illinois State Athletics Launches vISUalize Ambassadors Program

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics has launched the vISUalize Ambassadors program which will match a select group of Illinois State University students with Redbird student-athletes to assist them free of charge in their name, image and likeness (NIL) marketing, branding and entrepreneurial activities.

The vISUalize Ambassadors program is a project in collaboration with the Illinois State NIL department and the State Farm School of Business' Dr. Jeri Beggs, who will provide education for the vISUalize ambassadors.

"This is a unique opportunity for students to gain experience in an area of marketing that didn't exist 18 months ago," Beggs said. "The initials NIL will stand out on a resume and potential employers will take notice."

Ambassadors are selected after completing an application process, and will provide students-athletes who are passionate about social media and branding with hands-on support in the name, image and likeness space.

"vISUalize is providing an opportune moment for student-athletes here at ISU to better develop their personal brand as well as to become more ingrained with the local community," Madyson Morse, a junior on the Redbird swimming & diving team said.

Last year's changes to Illinois state law and NCAA policy allows student-athletes to monetize their name, image and likeness, creating an incentive for student-athletes to increase their presence online and define a clear brand.
