ST. LOUIS – For the third time season, senior thrower Logan Calvin was named the MVC Male Field Athlete of the Week after competition at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.
Opening his final outdoor season as a Redbird, Calvin launched a personal best throw of 19.54m (64-1.25 ft.) in the shot put at the Texas Relays to earn a fourth-place finish. Calvin's mark was the second-farthest shot put throw in Illinois State outdoor track & field history. His throw ranks No. 3 in the NCAA and in the West Region.
In addition, Calvin also competed in the hammer throw at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational, where he finished 10th with a mark of 56.41m (185-1 ft.)
After being named Male Field Athlete of the Week, Calvin has now won weekly honors nine times in his Redbird career.
