Illinois State Athletics, PNC Bank Honor Student-Athletes

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Athletics department and PNC Bank honored student-athletes selected as PNC Achievers with in-game, on-court recognition ceremonies during 2021-22 men's basketball games.

Each of the 12 PNC Achievers was presented an award by a Karin L. Bone Athletics Study Center staff member and a representative from PNC Bank.

"Our athletics department is extremely proud of the efforts by our twelve PNC Achievers that were recognized this academic year," Illinois State Assistant Athletics Director for Academics and Life Skills Joe Klausner said. "PNC's approach to the holistic development of student-athletes and recognizing them for service, academics, and leadership is something that aligns with our philosophy and values system here within our department and institution."

Each academic year, a group of students are selected and recognized as part of PNC Bank's support for Illinois State University.
The 2021-22 PNC Achievers included: Natalie Vaughn-Low (Soccer), Ali Cranston (Women's Track and Field), Emme Olson (Softball), Parker Wisdom (Men's Golf), Elena Jankulovska (Women's Tennis), Emily Keebler (Swimming and Diving), Collin Wyman (Baseball), Sarah Kushner (Volleyball), Mia Quigg (Gymnastics), Maria Toledo-Bailey (Women's Golf), Harrison Porter (Men's Track and Field/Cross Country) and Pol Botifoll Rius (Men's Tennis).

"PNC Achievers is about recognizing well-rounded students who are driven to succeed both on and off campus," Brian Ray, PNC regional president of central Illinois said. "These are the young adults we want to encourage as they move forward to become the next influencers in their workplaces and communities."

This is the eighth year PNC has recognized Illinois State students with the PNC Achievers designation.

"I want to say a big thank you to Regional President, Brian Ray and Vice President-Client and Community Jenna Wiesner for their continued partnership and recognition of our Redbirds," Klausner continued. "Additionally, I would like to thank General Manager Danny Dunbar and his staff at Redbird Sports Properties for their continued efforts in finding ways to elevate Redbird Athletics and the experiences of our student-athletes. Our Redbirds are special, and I look forward to honoring many more deserving student-athletes in the future."

PNC Achievers is a program dedicated to honoring students at nearly 20 schools and universities across the country. Honorees are selected locally by designated panels at each respective school using a set of criteria which includes the three pillars of academic achievement, community service and student leadership.
