NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics has announced that tickets are now available for the Football Kickoff Luncheon presented by First Site Properties which features head football coach Brock Spack and special guest head volleyball coach Allie Matters.
The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, Aug.17 in the Aaron Leech Club at Hancock Stadium. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. and the event will begin at noon with a buffet lunch followed by a program. The program will feature Coach Spack officially welcoming fans to the 2022 Redbird Football season with a preview of the upcoming schedule. Special guest Allie Matters will share details of her first season at the helm of Redbird Volleyball. Football student-athletes and assistant coaches from both the football and volleyball programs will also be in attendance.
Tickets are available to the public for $15 per person. Guests who purchase a table of eight for $120 will get the opportunity for a football student-athlete or a member of the coaching staff to sit with them. This event is being held in conjunction with the start of the season for both squads. After opening the season at Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 3, Illinois State football will return to Hancock Stadium to host the Valparaiso Beacons on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. for the team's home opener.
Coach Matters will make her coaching debut with Illinois State volleyball as the team opens play at a tournament at the University of Cincinnati Aug. 26-27. The following weekend, the squad will open the home slate Sept. 2-3 when it hosts Oral Roberts, UW-Green Bay and Southeast Missouri State in the Redbird Classic.
