ST LOUIS – Illinois State junior diver Eva Reyes was named Valley Diver of the Week after sweeping 1M and 3M events in the Redbirds' season opener Friday vs Eastern Illinois.
It's the seventh time Reyes has earned Valley Diver of the Week honors in her career and the second straight season she has earned the league's first Diver of the Week award of the season.
Reyes kept her career undefeated home 1M record intact with a total score of 269.18 Friday, which qualified Reyes for her third straight trip to NCAA Zones. The win moved her career record to 5-0 at home on the 1M boards.
She also turned in a mark of 258.75 to earn a win in the 3M dive for her ninth-career sweep of both diving events. The win improved Reyes to 4-1 in her career at home in 3M.
