NORMAL, Ill. – Returning home for the first time since Sept. 23, Illinois State volleyball welcomed the Belmont Bruins Friday night as the two programs met for the second time this season.
The two sides would battle back-and-forth, but it was the Redbirds claiming their fifth straight win, defeating Belmont in four sets from CEFCU Arena.
Individually, sophomore Aida Shadewald led the Redbirds as she tied a four-set career high with 18 kills as graduate student Bella Zeman and sophomore Hannah Reichensperger added 11 and 10 kills of their own, respectively.
Sophomore Emily Weber, recorded her 12th straight match with 20+ assists as the sophomore amassed 36 assists Friday night.
Illinois State now sits at 7-12 overall and 5-2 in the MVC while Belmont sees themselves with a 10-12 overall record and 4-4 mark in the MVC.
