HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a slow day at the plate for the Redbirds as Illinois State was not able to garner a hit against Florida Atlantic's pitcher Gabby Sacco, but fifth-year senior Emme Olson was able to draw a walk in the top of the seventh.
Florida Atlantic put one on the board in the bottom of the first on an RBI single up the middle. Senior starting pitcher Hannah Ross was able to hold the Owls to their lone run until the bottom of the fourth when FAU scored two unearned runs.
Olson was Illinois State's only baserunner of the day, drawing her walk in the seventh, but nothing came of it. The Redbirds dropped their third game of the Owl Classic to Florida Atlantic 3-0.
