ISU pulled within a run on a 6th-inning double by second-year sophomore Nick Strong.
Milwaukee extended its advantage to 4-2 on a wild pitch in the 7th inning.
Rasmussen reached on a hit-by-pitch in the 9th inning but the Redbirds were unable to plate the Blair, Neb. native or tie the game.
