Mabee, Kubiatowicz Combine for 9-0 Shutout of Bradley in Holm's 100th Career Win

PEORIA, Ill. – Fourth-year junior Cameron Mabee threw seven shutout innings before giving way to fourth-year junior Erik Kubiatowicz in the Illinois State baseball team's 9-0 series-clinching win at Bradley on Saturday at Dozer Park, which also yielded fifth-year head coach Steve Holm's 100th career win.

Mabee threw 94 pitches, allowing four hits and striking out three for Illinois State (13-21 overall, 4-10 MVC) as Holm becomes the seventh Redbird head coach to reach 100 career wins.

Freshman Shai Robinson had four hits to highlight the Redbirds' 15-hit outing.

The 'Birds move past Bradley in the MVC standings as the Braves fall to 11-23 overall and 3-11 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Robinson led off the game with a single before third-year junior Auggie Rasmussen doubled. A balk brought Robinson home before freshman Daniel Pacella knocked in Rasmussen.

The Redbirds added another run in the 3rd inning via a single from fourth-year junior Shaydon Kubo before ISU led 5-0 after seven innings following back-to-back run-producing at-bats by fourth-year junior Adrian Flores.

Illinois State added a pair of runs in both the 8th and 9th innings to cement in the win as second-year sophomores JP Gauthier and Noah Rabin each recorded RBI triples off the right field wall while Robinson and fifth-year senior Dylan Swarmer tallied RBI hits.
