CARBONDALE, Ill. – Third-year sophomore Judah Morris blasted a majestic home run, but the Illinois State baseball team dropped an 11-1 decision at Itchy Jones Stadium on Friday.
The Morris home run brought Illinois State (15-23 overall, 4-12 Missouri Valley Conference) within 2-1 in the 2nd inning but Southern Illinois (24-18 overall, 11-5 MVC) scored in every inning to cruise to victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SIU scored twice in the opening frame before Morris cut the deficit in half in the 2nd inning with his solo homer.
The Salukis scored the next nine runs for the run-rule win.
