IOWA CITY, IA.- Redbird track & field squad has completed day one of the Larry Wieczorek invite with some momentum going into day two.
On the men's side freshman Garrett Taylor had a personal-best in the men's shot put premier division with a throw of 16.01m (52-6.50). Freshman Brodie Squires had a personal-best jump of 7.08m (23-2.75). Freshman Rob Pulliam took fourth in the men's high jump with 2.00m (6-6.75). In the men's 3,000m run junior Zack Loomis ran a personal-best of 8:17.95 while taking eighth.
On the women's side senior Brittney Oakley had a season-best leap with 5.42m (17-9.50), while senior Carly Tucker also had a seasons-best in the premier high jump division with 1.65m (5-5.00). Senior Morgan Wrublik had a seasons-best throw in the women's shot put with 12.92m (42-4.75) and a personal-best in the weight throw with 16.32m (53-6.50). Junior Kiley Sanders had herself a career day with four personal-best, in the high jump Sanders put up 1.66m (5-5.25), in the 60mH Sanders had a time of 9.56, in the long jump Sanders leaped 5.42m (17-9.50), and Sander's final personal-best was her total score in the women's pentathlon of 3465.
