Redbirds Complete the Weekend with Records and PR's

CHAMPAIGN, IL.- The Illinois State track & field squad has completed day one and two of the Illini Challenge & Multis, as well as a set of student-athletes competing in Indianapolis at the Jaguar Invite. 

Illini Challenge & Multis 

On the men's side junior Michael Marrs takes 4th in the men's 200m with 22.42. Sophomore Cade Ward has himself a season-best time in the men's 400m with 50.05 while placing 2nd. Freshman Sam Atkinson takes 4th in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.54. Sophomore Charlie Kistner ran a personal-best in the men's mile with 4:22.63. 

On the women's side senior Sabrina Schlenker ran a season-best in the women's 400m with 1:02.26. Senior Bayta Butler takes 3rd in the women's shot put with 13.42m (44-0.50), senior Morgan Wrublink takes 7th with 12.56m (41-2.50). Junior Madison Saunders takes 2nd in the women's triple jump with her season-best leap of 12.19m (40-0.00), while sophomore Abby Milott takes 4th with her personal-best leap of 11.73m (38-6.00). In the women's pole vault all competing Redbirds place in the top 10 starting with junior Windsor Roberts with her season-best vault of 3.92m (12-10.25) and taking 5th, while Isabelle Hemmen taking 7th with 3.62m (11-10.50). Sophomore Sawyer Schoon vaults herself a personal-best with 3.62m (11-10.50) while taking 9th. Sophomore Reece Davis takes 10th with her season-best with 3.47m (11-4.50). 

Jaguar Invite 

On the men's side junior Mathis Chavand won the men's 3,000m with 8:11.96, while senior Baptiste Tardiveau took 2nd with 8:22.52. Senior Brandon Ratliff breaks the facility record for the men's 60m hurdles with 7.89. Junior Caleb Emmanuel-Lerus takes second in the men's 400m with 49.66. 

On the women's side freshman Colleen Zeibert takes 3rd in the women's 800m with 2:25.87, while junior Mattison Plummer takes 5th in the women's 800m with 2:16.52. Junior Corrina Courser takes 3rd in the women's 60m hurdles with 8.78, while senior Emilia Ness takes 5th with 8.87. 

Up Next

The Redbird track & field squad will send a group of student-athletes to the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame while another group will compete at the Keck Select hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Feb 2-3.
