WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.-- Highlighted by senior Mia Snow's school record in the 100-fly, Illinois State Swim and Dive turned in a strong performance on day two of competition at the 2024 Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Redbirds collected 33 season best-times across multiple events, while setting four lifetime bests across competition, including the 400 IM, 200 free, 100 back, and 100 fly.
In the 400 IM, Illinois State was led by finishes from Lauren Wisdom who recorded a lifetime best with a time of 4:33.23 during the 400-IM final. Ella Glaspie and Hope Westphal also finished at the top of the field with Glaspie taking 12th with a time of 4:34.97. Westphal took 13th clocking a 4:38.64 finish. This was followed by Sylvia Admire recording a time of 1:52.30 for a lifetime best in the 200-free.
Finally, Hailey Fris bested her previous 100-back time with a lifetime best 57.52 finish. Following Fris, was Mia Snow who added onto her school record prelim time of 54:03, In the 100-fly finals Snow recorded a time of 54.52 for fifth place.

Chloe Tyler, Sydney Hoff, Emma Feltzer and Mia Snow recorded a solid performance in the 200y medley relay. Their mark of 1:41.76 was good for fifth, beating out Grand Canyon University (6th place).

 In the 400 IM-Finals, a trio of Redbirds had top-finishes with Lauren Wisdom clocking a time of 4:33.23 (10th place), Ella Glaspie registered a time of 4:34.97 (12th) and freshman Hope Westphal rounding out the field posting a time of 4:38.64 (13th).Â

 Senior Mia Snow placed fifth in the 100-yard fly finals with a time of 54.52

 In the 200y free, Emma Feltzer finished sixth with a time of 1:51.67. Meanwhile, Amelia Murphy placed 13th in the B-final with a time of 1:52.49.

 In the 100 yard breaststroke Sydney Hoff recorded a time of 1:03.83 in the B-Final.

 In the 100 yard backstroke Chloe Tyler registered a time of 56.25 (12th) in the B-Final. Tyler was joined by graduate student Cassidy Carey who clocked a time of 58.38 (16th).

On the 1-meter board, Eva Reyes claimed seventh place with a score of 283.65.

In the 800-free relay, Amelia Murphy, Sylvia Admire, Lauren Hervey and Emma Feltzer placed fifth with a time of 7:32.41.

The Redbirds will conclude competition at the Purdue Invite on day three inside Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. Swimming Prelims will begin at 10 a.m, before diving prelims follow at 1 p.m. The finals session will start at 5 p.m, with swimming beginning at 5:15 and diving concluding the day at 5:50 p.m.
