ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Missouri Valley Conference has announced its track & field preseason poll ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The Illinois State women's team has been selected in third place receiving 123 points. The Redbirds sit behind first-place Indiana State (140 points) who received 10 first-place votes and second-place Murray State (123 points) who received two first-place votes.
Illinois State earned a second-place ranking in the men's poll, earning 85 points. The Redbirds' 85 points were enough to edge UNI (84 points)Â who received one first-place vote by just one point. Indiana State was selected first with a point total of 99 and received nine first-place votes.
The Illinois State track & field program begins its 2024-25 campaign by hosting the annual John Coughlan Invite on Dec. 6-7. Action is set to begin at 11:30 am at Horton Fieldhouse.
